Dear Lucas,
The Supreme Court heard recently arguments on the legality of important
parts of health reform...
No, this isn’t 2012. I know you’ve heard a lot from me in
the past about attacks on the Affordable Care Act, and that this might
seem like crying wolf. But this isn’t a fable -- this is actually
happening. In real life. Right now.
If the Supreme Court gets rid of many of the subsidies from the Affordable
Care Act, millions of Americans could lose their health insurance or lose
their jobs.

The health care reform law works in part because it provides subsidies
to millions of people who otherwise couldn’t afford insurance. If
the Court overrules the clear intent of Congress, health reform could
unravel -- the economic incentives just won’t be there, for patients
and providers alike.
Undermining the Affordable Care Act could also mean a return to the old,
inefficient, and unfair way we used to provide health care. It could mean
the end of the Medical Loss Ratio, a provision I helped include in the
Affordable Care Act that requires insurers to spend most of their money
paying for medical treatments.
The Affordable Care Act needs to be defended. Join me in standing up to
protect this landmark law -- click here to sign.
Thanks,
Al
P.S. Another thing that isn’t a fable? The effectiveness of my patented P.S. ask.
