It's time for ABC News to fire its anchor, George Stephanopoulos.
Stephanopoulos, an alum of the Clinton political machine who portrays
himself as an independent and impartial newsman, makes a daily mockery
of journalism.
By not disclosing his more than $75,000 in contributions to the Clinton
Foundation since 2011, he's destroyed any remaining credibility and
objectivity he has left!
We've long known that George Stephanopoulos, who
started working for Bill Clinton's presidential campaign in 1992 , became Bill's White House Communications Director, then moved over
to ABC News, has always been committed to the Clintons' progressive cause.
But the game was up after he raked
Clinton Cash author Peter Schweizer over the coals in April for his supposed conflict
of interest —
for having written speeches for George W. Bush for just four months —
while only later admitting his own fat cat support of the Clintons after
it was revealed in the press!
Could George Stephanopoulos be any more of a hypocrite?
Could he be any less deserving of an anchor's chair?
If serial fibber Brian Williams could be suspended for half a year without
pay for his "imaginative" self-recollections,
what should the failure to mention his support of the Clinton Foundation
cost ABC's chief anchor and political correspondent George Stephanopoulos?
His job,
that's what.
If you agree, and if you're as fed up with leftist media hypocrisy
and political corruption as we are — then I'm asking you to
join Accuracy in Media by demanding that ABC News fire George Stephanopoulos now!
Accuracy in Media is a citizens' media watchdog whose mission is to
promote accuracy, fairness and balance in news reporting.
AIM exposes politically motivated media bias, teaches consumers to think
critically about their news sources, and holds the mainstream press accountable
for the stories it misreports and ignores.
And that's exactly why we're demanding that George Stephanopoulos be fired.
For far too long, the leftist media have operated hand in hand with America's
most powerful news conglomerates — and although one decision cannot
restore credibility after decades of bias, ABC should take a step in the
right direction by firing Stephanopoulos.
Will you
help us pressure ABC into taking that positive step? And after you've signed, will you
pitch in whatever you can afford — $10, $35, $50 or even $100 to
Accuracy in Media to ensure your friends and neighbors know the truth?
It's quite obvious that since George Stephanopoulos opted to hide
his support of the Clinton Foundation, he can no longer be trusted by
the American people to deliver an honest and impartial message about anything.
It's up to you and me to expose the deception of Stephanopoulos as
a newscaster and demand that he be fired.
Act today before it's too late.
Sincerely,
Don Irvine
Chairman, Accuracy in Media
P.S. George Stephanopoulos hopes that his meager apologies will be enough
to keep his prized position of political influence at ABC. It shouldn't
be! Help us help ABC to see the light — lend your name to our
"Fire George Stephanopoulos Now!" petition, and pitch in whatever
you can to make sure we can spread this message across the country!
