Lucas,
America loved tuning in to Mad Men every week to see Peggy Olson and Joan Holloway rise in the ranks in a business and an era dominated by men.
Fortunately, we have a lot more women like Peggy and Joan today: Eight out of 10 mothers work/four out of 10 are their family’s primary wage earner. But when it comes to paid family leave, we’re still stuck in the Mad Men era.
In fact, the United States is the ONLY industrialized country in the world without a paid leave program for its workers. It’s outrageous.
So I have to ask you: Today, before you watch the final episode of Mad Men, will you take a moment to sign my petition calling on Congress to pass the FAMILY Act and implement paid family and medical leave for every worker?
Help put the Mad Men era behind us: Add your name today to call on Congress to pass the FAMILY Act.

This isn’t just a women’s issue. When mothers need time to care for a newborn, or when any one of us needs to care for a dying parent, not having paid family leave takes a toll on the entire family.
The FAMILY Act will help modernize our workforce, and Congress needs to make it a priority. I hope you’ll sign my petition before tonight so we can really close the books on Mad Men and start a new chapter for our workforce.
Add your name to tell Congress: Pass the FAMILY Act to bring our workforce out of the Mad Men era.
Thank you,
Kirsten
