The creation of a special prosecutor to investigate civilian shootings by police officers in New York is an important step towards keeping our communities safe. We’re saying thank you to Governor Andrew Cuomo and Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for taking this important step.
Keith Wright first proposed this initiative in 1999. He’s proud to recognize the progressive leadership demonstrated by Governor Cuomo and Attorney General Schneiderman in making this special prosecutor a reality.
These investigations will ensure that all New Yorkers enjoy the justice they deserve. And it's just another way that our state is leading the way in reforming the criminal justice system.
