Black Bar Association as the
Honorable Fern A. Fisher,
Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for New York City Courts and
Director of the New York State Courts Access to Justice Program, is honored with the
Ida B. Wells-Barnett Justice Award on
Tuesday, February 3 at
6 p.m.
Named for one of the first African American women to run for public office
in the United States, the award is presented annually to a woman of color
whose life reflects her spirit and courageousness by distinguishing herself
in the fight for racial and gender equality.
About the Honoree
Judge Fisher is the Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for New York City Courts and also serves as the Director of the New York State Courts Access to Justice Program. She is a founding member of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association, a member and past Board member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and NYCLA.
