On Friday, we achieved a major victory for the students of Corona--we unveiled plans to finally get rid of the classroom trailers at P.S. 19Q .
Since my first day in office, I have been fighting for the classroom trailers to be removed from P.S. 19Q. I am proud to say that we now have set a plan in motion that will provide our students with the classrooms they need to succeed.
At the beginning of this school year, I joined with teachers, parents, and colleagues to call for the removal of classroom trailers at P.S. 19Q. Unfortunately, that was far from the first time we've addressed this issue. Overcrowding was a problem at P.S.19Q even when I attended the school as a young child.
All students, regardless of what zip code they live in, deserve a world-class education. Today, we can proudly announce that we are moving our classrooms into the future.
