Drumthwacket to “Go Red and Glow Red” for 12th Annual National Wear Red Day
“As we recognize the 12th anniversary of National Wear Red Day, we
have a real opportunity to make a difference by raising awareness of this
major women’s health issue,” said First Lady Mary Pat Christie.
“We know that heart disease is not just a man’s disease. In
fact, 1 in 3 women die of heart disease and stroke every year. I’m
so proud that our larger New Jersey community has embraced this day through
their participation. By “going red” we’re helping women
protect their heart halth, take action to reduce the risks of cardiovascular
disease, and hopefully, save lives of those near and dear to us.”
Drumthwacket is one of many buildings nationwide that will be illuminated
in red for National Wear Red Day. In fact, in 2014, New Jersey was number
one in the country with 136 illuminated landmarks, buildings and properties,
including NJ PAC in Newark, Subaru of America in Cherry Hill, Janssen
Pharmaceuticals, Inc in Raritan and Rutgers University Douglas Student
Center in New Brunswick.
Additionally, New Jersey was number one in the nation with more than 2,100
businesses, schools, towns, organizations registered to participate in
2014 Wear Red Day.
