Hey Lucas -- I’m writing from the DSCC Political Office to share
some notes from our Senate campaigns.
GOP Trumped?
Vulnerable Republican senators are trying to walk a tightrope between
embracing Donald Trump and distancing themselves from his bigoted positions.
National Republicans are trying to have it both ways too -- even as they
put out memos advising their candidates to keep their distance from Trump,
they’re lining their campaign coffers by selling Trump merchandise!
My take is that voters will see through the hypocrisy.
The truth is that Trump is
the GOP, the GOP is Trump, and the damage being done to the GOP is real. That’s why media outlets like
AP, the
New York Times and the
Washington Post report that Trump could badly hurt the GOP in 2016 and even help end Mitch
McConnell’s Senate majority!
Which is great news for Democrats.

And while Trump is raising funds for vulnerable Republican senators like
Pat Toomey (and his image is plastered on the Republican Senatorial Committee’s
t-shirts and beer koozies),on our team we have rockstar Elizabeth Warren, who’s crisscrossing
the country to make sure Democrats retake the Senate. “I’m going to work my heart out... I’m committed to
doing whatever I can,” Senator Warren told the

2016 Is Coming
As we go into the holidays, I want to remind you that
2016 is just around the corner. At DSCC HQ that means we’re planning, prepping, and putting all
the pieces together to win next year. There’s a whole lot to do
(open offices, hire staff, recruit volunteers, contact voters, the list
goes on and on…) and it all takes resources.
