Hello Lucas --
If you woke up tomorrow with a high fever, chills, and a pounding headache,
you'd have a few options to begin feeling better: rest, ask a loved
one for help, and maybe see your family doctor.
But if you woke up tomorrow, exhausted again after more than two weeks
of difficulty sleeping, constant sadness, feelings of worthlessness and
were unable to function as you usually do, you might be less sure of how
to treat your symptoms. That's because too often, we don't think
about our mental health the same way as our physical health.
Bill and I believe there is no health without mental health. For months
now, we've been working on a mental health roadmap for New York City
and its residents, and I'm proud to announce today that we've
released ThriveNYC.
Watch and share this video with your friends to learn more about the problem
and our roadmap to take it on.
A recent study showed that more than 4 out of 10 adult New Yorkers with
a serious mental illness didn't get help, or delayed getting help.
Sadly, people often don't know where to look for mental health services.
And there is still a stigma about seeking help for mental health. With
ThriveNYC, we aim to change that by addressing our city's mental health
crisis with a comprehensive public health approach.
Be a part of the solution by sharing this short ThriveNYC video with your friends:
