Lucas,
This is a time for solidarity with the people of France. No words can
really capture the senseless and barbaric acts of terror committed against
innocent people -- people who were just grabbing dinner with friends,
or attending a concert.
As we remember the victims of the terror in Paris and work to redouble
our efforts to defeat ISIS and terrorist organizations around the world,
we cannot forget about those fleeing terror in Syria -- and what we can
do to help.
Our nation has always served as a refuge for the vulnerable. We cannot
allow fear to undermine that very fundamental value.
