Lucas,
As you can see from the email thread below, the scientists at the Team
Franken Center for Innovation in Fundraising Emails (TFCIFE) have been
hard at work trying to come up with the next BIG idea for a fundraising email.
While I appreciate their ideas and creative efforts, I’ve decided
to go with the direct approach in this email to communicate a core message of
WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP.
Help us reach our $30,000 November goal with a contribution right now.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Our work organizing to fight for middle class families, equality, paycheck
fairness, transparency in our elections, and other important issues all
relies on grassroots supporters like you.
Lucas, it all comes down to you.
So, please take a moment to contribute $5 or $10 right now to help keep
our efforts going strong.
Thank you for all that you do and will do,
Al

Maybe we could do an email that’s just horoscopes?
Something like:
Aries, Taurus, Gemini
You feel a deep foreboding about the state of our nation’s campaign
finance system. You know it’s only a matter of time before special
interests flood the airwaves with ads funded by dark money.
The planets share your concern and ask you to consider making a $5 contribution
towards Team Franken to further efforts to overturn Citizens United.
Aquarius & Pisces
Change may be in the air today, but climate change is on your mind. Today,
the Universe will present you with an opportunity to support a grassroots
organization committed to taking action.
Your lucky numbers are 5 and 10.

Just a thought while we’re discussing: My data has shown a 1.2%
increase in the number of people who opened our emails when cat pictures
are included in the email... 1.1% for dogs.

It’s possible. I’ve also got a couple of ideas. Al, could
we send an appeal celebrating your half birthday: “Click here to contribute $.50 to celebrate Al’s half-birthday.”
??
Or, we could mark the 30th anniversary of the release of windows 1.0.
Or both?

Do folks think last spring’s baseball metaphor test results could
