That’s a very real possibility under the FCC’s contested regulatory nightmare that grants them power over the Internet.
The FCC delivered it’s oral arguments in favor net neutrality in court on Friday, but we’re still left without answers on the possible outcome of this monumental case. If you were expecting any clarity at all -- you were likely very disappointed.
One thing is clear though, if we allow government to gain greater control, it will be a tremendous setback to a truly free and open Internet. We are at the crossroads for the future of the free and open Internet.
Please share our post on Facebook to help spread the word on this government’s attempt to turn the Internet into a tightly controlled public utility. It is a monumental misstep and an assault on our most basic freedoms.
Ironically, many of the activist groups that championed Internet openness to justify net neutrality are fervently petitioning the government, media and Internet companies to censor online and offline speech or even ban the social media platforms where those they disagree with communicate. Clearly, their agenda is to use whatever means possible to silence their opponents.
We’ll continue watching the net neutrality debate and keeping you informed of any developments. You can help us get the word out and fight the power grab by clicking here.
