Lucas,
We celebrate Women’s History Month every March to reflect on the women who have inspired our nation toward fairness and gender equality. But no matter how far we’ve progressed, women still earn an average of 78 cents to every dollar men earn.
This glaring pay disparity is not just a women’s issue – it’s a family issue: When women don’t earn equal pay for equal work, middle-class and working families have less money to put food on the table, gas in their cars, or kids through school.
That’s why I’m introducing the Equal Rights Amendment – to help make the gender pay gap a thing of the past – but we have to speak out together now and demand Congress ensure equal pay for equal work. Will you add your name and urge Congress to act now for paycheck equality?

It’s appalling that a gender pay gap persists in 2015 – more than 50 years after we passed the Equal Pay Act. And the disparity is even greater for African American and Hispanic women.
Equal pay benefits everyone – husbands, wives, children, and parents. That’s why I am fighting so hard in Congress for the ERA and to ensure every American earns equal pay for equal work, but I need your voice to show Congress that this is a priority. Will you join the effort and speak out today for equality?
Add your name and demand Congress ensure equal pay for equal work!
Thank you for speaking out with me today,
Carolyn
