Dear Conservative,
How would you like to help an outspoken black conservative to retake Allen
West's old Congressional Seat? How would you like to shock the moderate
political establishment? If you want to do that, then
I need your help, right now.
Next Tuesday, I'm facing off for the Republican nomination for Florida's
18th District. I need your help to fund our final week push. We need $22,000
dollars to fund our get out the vote operation, making calls, knocking
on doors buying food and supplies for our volunteers and purchasing our last ads.
Here's the guy I'm up against:
- He's an old Charlie Crist crony, and I'm a real conservative. Remember Crist? He was the Republican Governor who switched and became an independent when Marco Rubio beat him, then became a Democrat? Yeah, my opponent is one of his best buddies.
- The Establishment has thrown their money and support behind my opponent, but conservative and tea party activists are standing with me.
I'm a black tea party conservative. As you know, the Left loves to
trot out silly attacks and call Republicans racist. They can't pull
that junk with me.
Let's jam it down their throats - and
help send a proud black, immigrant conservative to Washington, DC.
What scares them most? I'm a believer in the Constitution of this great
nation, and the principles of our Founders. I believe in the American
Dream because I've lived it. Here's my story:
I came to America from the Bahamas, for a college education in 1989 on
an F-1 visa, to study Chemistry and Biology at the University of Miami.
There I met the love of my life, Sheryl, and I'm happy to say that
we've been married for 17 wonderful years.
After ten years of hard work, waiting in line, following the rules, and
paying my taxes, I took my oath of citizenship in 1999. It was the proudest
day of my life.
In 2004, Sheryl and I started a small business together, and the challenges
of entrepreneurship led me to get increasingly involved in my community,
which led to me becoming Vice-Mayor of Tequesta.
When the economy was faltering in 2009, along with many other Americans,
I took a long hard look at where our country was headed, and realized
that we were on a disastrous path: too much debt, too much spending, and
so little to show for it. I started getting involved in local Tea Party
and Republican events. Like so many of you, I didn't see myself as
someone who would end up getting involved in politics. But the Democrats
and the Establishment Republicans were spending too much, and refused
to listen to "We The People."
At a certain point, when you are watching wrong policy move after wrong
policy move being committed by an out-of-control Administration like Barack
Obama's, you have a duty as a citizen to step up and fight back.
Now I'm ready to take my commitment to my country to DC. I'm running to put the fear of God in these people, but I need your help.
I'm not a career politician - I don't have a long list of rich friends and well-connected donors. But I've got something more powerful: Strong conservatives like you who are as scared for the future of our country as I am and understand that we need to rein in an out-of-control Federal Government. The only way that's ever going to happen is to send strong, Constitutional conservatives to Washington. Can I count on your support?
You have to understand who I'm up against: my primary opponent is basically a caricature of a country club Republican. He's a wealthy white man establishment Republican with no ideas, and no vision. He will do nothing when he gets there, other than whatever he is told by Leadership.
America's opinion of Congress is at an all time low, and I understand why. It's because of guys like this.
The choice couldn't be clearer here:
You can send a black, Tea party conservative who is ready to go to DC and
fight, or you can send another country club establishment congressman
to DC who will do what he's told.
I need your help. Not tomorrow, not the next day, not next Wednesday,
I need it RIGHT NOW. We are making our final buying decisions and we need
every dime now.
