My story is the story of millions of Texas families, one that will be familiar to those who face challenges and overcome them because they have dreams for their children and their families.
However, as of this morning, my political opponents have made it clear they are trying to silence me and my story.
This isn’t new. Greg Abbott and his insider buddies have spent this entire campaign trying to silence me. They have tried attacks and smears. They have tried to shame me, ridicule me, and demean me into silence.
It didn't work then. And it won’t work now.
Because I will not back down. It’s like one of my Texas heroes, Ann Richards said -- I’ve “been tested by the fire, and the fire lost.” I don’t scare that easy, and you know I never back down. This campaign isn’t just about my story: It’s about all of yours.
When I stood for 13 hours fighting against restrictions on women’s health care, I did it for every Texas woman worried she would lose access to quality care. When I fought billions in cuts to education funding, I did it for every Texan worried that their children wouldn’t get the quality education they deserve.
My opponents have tried to silence me every step of the way. But I won’t stop advocating for the Texas families that need me. That’s what keeps me fighting. And that, Richie, is why I need you to continue fighting with me.
We will not be silenced. If you can, give $5 or more toward our $1,000,000 September goal to keep up the fight.
Thank you for all of your help.
