Dear friends and supporters,
I'm planning to vote on the Working Families Party line this November 4th and I wanted to take just a minute to tell you why -- and to ask you to do the same.
Voting on the WFP line sends a clear message to candidates - make working New Yorkers a priority. It's a way to make sure that candidates know you stand for a progressive New York and for progressive issues.
Consider just one of these issues: raising the minimum wage. It would make a huge difference in the lives of millions of workers. It would mean a mother can afford to feed her children, and bring them to the doctor. Or that a father can take time out to teach his son to play ball, because he doesn't have to work 3 jobs to pay the bills.
If we win a Democratic-Working Families majority in the New York State Senate, we have the chance to see an entire progressive platform become a reality -- that includes raising the minimum wage, passing campaign finance reform, and so much more. Voting on the WFP line helps makes it clear to all of Albany that we expect action on these issues.
