Dear Lucas,
I just declared victory after another 20,000 votes were counted, our increase
almost doubled, and the Associated Press officially called the race.
First and foremost, I want to thank Jeff Gorell for his service to our
country. I wish him well and look forward to working with him in the future.
While it's clear that we won on the issues of expanding the middle
class, pushing forward on a women's economic agenda and protecting
a woman's right to choose, the American people also made it clear
that they want and expect Congress to come together to solve our nation's
many challenges.
I am so proud of the campaign that we built, of the thousands of supporters
who helped get our message out, and of your belief. You have my word that
I will work every single day to move Ventura County, California and our
country forward based on our shared values.
I cannot thank you enough for your support, your encouragement, and for
your dedication to fighting for a brighter future.
