Lucas,
Today—and every day—is a time to honor all of our heroes who
proudly fight for our country. Our service members and their families
make endless sacrifices every day to protect our freedom and safety.
I have made supporting our veterans a top priority in Congress, and I
promise to always fight to ensure that those who serve our country have
the benefits and care they deserve. While we take a moment today to honor
them, we should make sure to include those who no longer serve and those
who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Their devotion to our nation and
everything it stands for is truly inspiring.
