The right to vote is under attack.
In state after state, Tea Party Republicans are trying to make it more difficult for people of color to vote. 50 years after the Civil Rights Act, Tea Party politicians are instituting voter ID systems, ending early voting, and passing discriminatory measures that put roadblocks in the way of voting.
Charlie Rangel is standing up against the Tea Party Republicans and now they're attacking him. Turn on Fox News and you're likely to see conservative voices going after him for speaking his mind and standing up for our values.
I know, though, that we can count on you to stand with Charlie against the right wing's attacks. Let him know that you're with him!
It's part and parcel with the attacks against our President, Barack Obama. In Congress and on Fox News, they're constantly going after anyone who speaks for us, who stands up for our values. And when the majority of the country echoed their agreement, the Tea Party responded by trying to restrict the right to vote.
Charlie Rangel was a co-founder of the Congressional Black Caucus and has spent decades fighting to protect our rights. He's stood up against conservative attacks and fought for the things that are most dear to us. Charlie Rangel is under attack but he's not giving up.
