Supporters - we're just a week past Senator Ball's announcement that he would be stepping down and a lot sure has happened. Our race has been profiled in a number of newspapers and TV programs as a "battleground race"; we've received an outpouring of additional support from both new and old friends; and the Republicans are still in the midst of trying to pick their nominee.
But it's not changing what Justin is doing. He's full speed ahead. This week he's attended events in Beekman, Somers, Mahopac, Chappaqua and Peekskill – and he's just getting started. We recently announced the endorsement of the Communications Workers of America (see article here) and the local news picked up Justin's advocacy for common sense gun safety laws (see article here). We're even gearing up to open our first office (more on than in future emails).
Here's a picture of Justin at yesterday's Memorial Day parade in Chappaqua with Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton:
While an open seat is exciting, we still have a lot of work to do! Here are two things you can do to help:
1) DONATE TODAY. Justin had over $1.5 million spent against him in 2012 – with an open seat we expect much more in 2014. Justin needs your financial support TODAY by clicking here – giving today allows us to build a strong campaign to fight back and get our message out.
2) SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER. There is a simple online form that you can access by clicking here. Volunteering is fun and easy – no experience necessary! But we can't do this without you.
I hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend and is fired up for the campaign ahead.
