My two greatest role models have always been my Mom and Dad.
Mom taught pre-school and served as a social worker, and Dad was a journalist and public servant. Growing up in Springfield, they taught me the value of helping others, working hard and serving our community. They inspired me to give back and pursue a career in public service.
I love the Prairie State, and it's been an honor to represent you in Congress. I work each and every day to serve as a strong, independent voice in Washington, fighting for the issues most important to you.
I care deeply about our community, and want to keep fighting for the people of Illinois in the halls of Congress. But, with my first re-election campaign underway, I know I can't do this without your help.
