Dear Lucas,
We've seen the damage that the Supreme Court's 5-4 Citizens United decision has had on our democracy. Since the ruling, Super PACs funded by deep-pocketed billionaires have flooded the airways with false attacks and poisoned our political process.
In 2012, special-interest Super PACs spent more than $1 billion trying to buy the election. This year they are gearing up to spend even more. The unlimited, anonymous cash that Citizens United has unleashed on our political process is undermining the foundations of our democracy. It's dangerous and it needs to stop.
I am determined to stand up and work to reverse the damage done by the Citizens United ruling. I hope you will join me in this fight.
