STOP THIS ABUSIVE PRACTICE

Lucas,

Tax season is upon us and for the first time in history, Americans are receiving health care premium tax credits under the Affordable Care Act to alleviate the cost of insuring ourselves and our families. Regrettably, thousands of married survivors of domestic violence are being forced to file with their abuser in order to gain access to affordable health credits. And that needs to change now.

Seventy-four of my colleagues and I rushed a letter to the Secretary of Treasury to demand a swift resolution in order to keep our brave survivors away from trouble. We must show that we've got the power of the people behind us. Can I count on you to add your name? SIGN HERE.

If I can follow up our letter with 20,000 signatures from my supporters, I have a feeling that we'll get the attention that this deserves. No one should be forced to face their abuser in order to gain affordable health care in our country.

Together, we can eliminate the harmful barriers that are coming between survivors of domestic abuse and affordable health care benefits. But I need your help putting pressure on the Treasury Department. Add your name now!

Thanks for taking action and standing up for what's right. It doesn't go unnoticed.

Sincerely,

Paul
