In Congress, I'm working to raise the minimum wage because a livable wage for every worker is key to closing the opportunity gap and building an economy that works for everyone. No one who works full time should be struggling to raise a family.

But Republicans in Congress don't agree and are refusing to act. That's why we're fighting back. Our campaign is working to build support for our push to raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 per hour. It'll keep families out of poverty, create jobs, and it's the right thing to do.
Will you show your support for a higher minimum wage?
We're making strides in creating jobs in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx and ending discrimination against the unemployed but that doesn't help much if the job pays poverty-level wages. Unfortunately, that's the case for too many jobs, and then people are left working two or three jobs and still struggling to support their families.
No one should face that unenviable challenge. And yet Republicans don't care. But I do, and I know I can count on you to stand up for our campaign to raise the wage.
