Major General Professor Isaac Ben-Israel is a former senior member of the Israel Air Force (IAF) who joined TAU after retiring from the military in 2004. He serves as the Chairman of the Israel Space Agency. Prof. Ben-Israel's previous roles include Head of the IAF Operations Research Branch, Head of the Analysis and Assessment Division of IAF Intelligence, and Head of Military Research and Development in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). He has received extensive recognition for his service, including the Israel Defense Award and the Israel Air Force Award for his development of weapons systems, and the Singapore Defense Technology Distinguished Award for his "outstanding contribution to bilateral defense relations between Israel and Singapore." He holds degrees in mathematics, physics and philosophy and has published numerous papers, both classified and unclassified, on military and security issues. His work has the highest security clearance.
