The race is officially on in New Hampshire. Former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown and Jeanne Shaheen have kicked off what is already one of 2014's toughest, most expensive showdowns – our Senate majority could hang in the balance.
Jeanne is clinging to a narrow lead, but Brown is rapidly becoming the best-funded candidate in New Hampshire history. The Koch brothers and Big Oil have already spent more than $2.5 million attacking Jeanne's record, and they're set to spend even more.
We underestimated Brown's big-moneyed allies when they helped him buy a solid blue Senate seat in Massachusetts in 2010, and it could happen again – unless we act now.
Jeanne needs to come out of the gate running, and I am committed to raising $15,000 by midnight tonight to re-elect Jeanne and protect our Democratic Senate majority. Everything we value depends on winning this race. Will you join me in supporting Jeanne?
When we face a wall of money, it's only unified action that can break through it, and now is the time to come together. I know we can accomplish so much.
Thank you for your support.
