Dear Lucas,
While you may know me as a Food Network star and cookbook author, first and foremost I'm mom to four young girls. The same is true for many of my colleagues at Food Network. But regardless of whether we are parents or not, feeding hungry kids is important to all of us. That is why we support the No Kid Hungry campaign, helping families get needed meals during the summer when hunger spikes.
Host a backyard BBQ and raise money to help kids get the summer meals they need.
You've heard the statistics: the federal summer meals program designed
to feed our nation's hungry kids is only serving 1 out of every 7
children who needs these meals.
Now you have a chance to help.
Cook out for No Kid Hungry. Invite your friends. Encourage people to join
you in helping hungry kids.
As I've seen many families, friends and Food Network colleagues lead
through example, I know this is our chance to do our part to ensure every
child has the fuel they need to succeed.
So gather your friends, cook up some great food, and help save summer for
hungry children.
Feeding kids is important. That's why we are asking for your help to
make sure more kids have access to summer meals.
Great food, good friends, and an urgent cause. I can't think of a
better reason to get grilling!
Warmly,
Melissa D'Arabian
