The Red Hook Boaters is a volunteer-only group dedicated to providing FREE kayaking to the Red Hook community in Brooklyn and helping them maintain the beauty of the shoreline at Valentino Pier. Visitors get to kayak in our embayment for free ... and help us clean up the shore afterwards.
We need volunteers to help us do lots of things, including: set up the program (carrying the boats, paddles and life jackets to the water), meet and greet our 100-150 guests per day, help them with water safety rules, assist in fitting Personal Floatation Devices, help them get into and out of kayaks, be a safety on the water or organize visitors in beach cleanup.
As a volunteer, you will be able to join us on TRIPS IN THE NEW YORK HARBOR! If you ever dreamed of kayaking around Governor's Island, to the Statue of Liberty or even thought of a circumnavigation ... here's your chance to meet like-minded water-enthusiasts! Come join the fun!
