Men Allegedly Shot by Off-Duty NYPD Officer File $90M Suit Against City

Two men who were shot back in April, allegedly by an off-duty NYPD officer, announce plans to sue the city.

Joseph Felice and Robert Borrelli filed notices of claim against the city for $90 million.

Police say Felice and Borrelli were driving in the Westchester County town of Pelham when off-duty officer Brendan Cronin fired 14 bullets at their car.

Felice was hit 6 times and is still recovering from his injuries.

Borrelli was not injured.

Borrelli and his lawyer say the city and the Police Department need to be held accountable.

"We lay this claim at the feet of the City of New York, and particularly at the feet of Commissioner [William] Bratton," said attorney Randolp McLaughlin.

"We know there is a long road ahead until justice is truly done, but we are eager for both cases to proceed so we can finally put this horrible ordeal to rest," said Borrelli.

Cronin has been suspended from the NYPD without pay.

The City Law Department declined to comment on the suit.
