Last week, five men on the Supreme Court made an egregious error when they ruled that corporations can dictate women’s personal health decisions.
In her dissent, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg put it best: “The court, I fear, has ventured into a minefield.”
That is why this Wednesday, I joined my Democratic colleagues to safeguard women’s rights and introduce the Protect Women’s Health From Corporate Interference Act. This legislation would ensure women, not their employers, get to make their own health care decisions.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has vowed to fast-track this bill. Now, we need to send a clear message to Congress: This is everyone’s priority.
There is no time to waste – join me now in urging Congress to act quickly and right the Supreme Court’s dangerous Hobby Lobby ruling.
It’s 2014, and I wish we could leave the fight for women’s freedoms in the 20th century.
But the Supreme Court’s decision was a dangerous setback for women everywhere. Women’s rights are under fire, and this crucial piece of legislation is exactly what we need to fight back – right now.
I know we can protect women’s health, but only if we stand together. I hope you will add your voice to my petition and declare your support for this bill. We need to show Congress that this is our priority.
Add your name to the growing list of Americans urging Congress to stand up for women's health.
You have been there for me in the past and I appreciate you standing with me now on the issues that matter most.
Thank you for your support,
Kirsten
