Lucas,
Once again, the Supreme Court has issued an extremely troubling ruling
that puts corporate interests above the rights, freedoms, and well-being
of the American people.
In its decision that Hobby Lobby and other closely-held, for-profit companies
can deny coverage for birth control because of religious beliefs, the
Court is declaring that employers have the authority to make critical
healthcare decisions that should be made by women and their doctors.
This ruling is a threat to women’s health and a severe blow to the
freedom and equality we’ve worked so hard for over the past decades.
Will you join me in denouncing this destructive decision and standing up
for the rights of women and all Americans? We need 100,000 signatures
for our petition to make the biggest impact possible.
Millions of American women and their families rely on birth control, which
contributes to our nation’s improving maternal and infant health,
reduces the risk of ovarian cancer, and helps prevent unintended pregnancies.
Hindering women’s access to affordable birth control is a major
step backward.
This ruling not only jeopardizes the health of women and their families,
but it puts our entire democracy at risk by elevating the rights of corporate
"persons" above those of actual people. We can’t let the
Hobby Lobby decision stand without a fight.
Sign our petition today and let’s begin the work to reverse this
misguided ruling right now!
Thanks for your support on this critical issue,
Elizabeth
