Dear Lucas,
The Koch brothers' backed group Americans for Prosperity has played a huge part in making me the most attacked Senate candidate in the country this election.
Even though our race in North Carolina is considered a toss-up, I really think the Kochs are wasting their money -- because I've got a huge network of supporters (that includes you) fighting with me.
To fight back this month, we must hit our $70,000 January goal -- and we're only days away from the deadline. Can you chip in $5 to get us a bit closer?
Why are special interests attacking me? It's pretty simple -- because I don't support their agenda.
Medicare and Social Security are critically important. Creating jobs and investing in small businesses are economic imperatives. These priorities are important to me because they're important to middle class families -- and in the end, that's who I work for.
The Koch brothers and their allies don't want to hear about those things. They like gridlock and abhor progress. And they think they can bring me down simply by writing enough big checks.
But they can't as long as we have the resources we need to fight back. But we need them now -- and I need your help.
$6 million worth of attacks by the Kochs is a lot to fight against, but as long as we reach our $70,000 goal, we will succeed. Contribute $5 or more to help us reach this goal in the next 6 days.
The out-of-touch interests can keep on spending money -- and I'm sure they will. But you and I know how to defeat them. And as long as we keep working together, we will.
Thank you for all of your help.
Kay
