The special election for Florida's 13th Congressional District is less than three weeks away --
and this race couldn't be more important.
Republican candidate and DC Lobbyist David Jolly isn't just scary, he's terrifying. Fortunately, WOMEN VOTE! is on the ground, talking to voters in Florida and working to keep him from ever reaching Washington. Here's a sample of what Jolly would bring to Congress:
- A National Right to Life Endorsement -- this extreme anti-choice group pledged their support for Jolly in both the primary and general election citing enthusiasm for his "pro-life stand."
- One more card in Paul Ryan's back pocket -- Jolly has said time and time again that he sides with Washington's conservatives, noting that he thinks "there was a lot of good in the Ryan budget" -- the same budget that cuts funding for Medicaid and Medicare, and forces women to pay more for preventative care like mammograms and cancer screenings, all while cutting taxes for millionaires.
- A vote against equal pay -- Jolly has said he "personally opposes" the Paycheck Fairness Act and even lobbied on behalf of a conservative group on the bill, which encourages pay equity for men and women.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
We need to make sure Jolly and his radical conservative agenda stay out of Congress -- and that means raising $150,000 by February 24 to educate and mobilize voters.
