I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s happening again:
Republican Rep. Steve Pearce just added his voice to the litany of GOP misogyny, saying that wives need to "voluntarily submit" to their husbands. In the year 2014, it is amazing there are still so many men like this in Congress.
Fortunately, we only need 17 seats to take back the House and we’ve got an incredible pickup opportunity with New Mexico’s Rocky Lara, who's running against Pearce this year.
Rocky founded her own law firm specializing in protecting children from abuse and neglect, and as a county commissioner in Eddy County, New Mexico, helped bring the county’s unemployment rate to among the lowest in the whole country.
My Off the Sidelines movement is about helping women like Rocky, particularly when they run against anti-women candidates like Pearce. But for her to win, she needs to hit all her fundraising goals, and I've committed to helping raise her $17,000 by Monday.

After all the outlandish things we have heard men say – remember "legitimate rape"? – it truly is amazing that these guys have not learned.
And no matter what he says, Pearce will still have support from the Koch brothers’ Americans for Prosperity and a host of other extreme, radical groups. He fits right in with them, having voted against funding for violence against women prevention programs.
We really cannot have people like this in Congress, but the only way for Rocky to win is if we stand with her.
