Lucas,
2,000 Delta workers at LaGuardia and JFK will soon be earning more thanks to our leadership.
Right now, many workers earn only $8 an hour, don't get benefits or paid sick leave. I was proud to march with community leaders and union members on Martin Luther King Day. We even got arrested but it was worth it because our effort paid off. Delta has agreed to raise wages for their employees.
Delta workers will now earn something closer to a living wage but Republicans in Congress still refuse to increase the minimum wage. Will you contribute $25 today so that we can keep standing up for working people?
I am not done fighting. I recently joined other elected officials in calling on Governor Christie in New Jersey to do the right thing at New Jersey's three Port Authority-controlled airports as well — Newark Liberty, Teterboro and Atlantic City International.
We're making slow progress but we shouldn't have to get arrested to ensure that workers are paid fairly. I'm fighting to make sure that all airport workers--and all Americans--earn what they deserve.
Will you stand with me in this fight?
Thank you,
Charles B. Rangel
Member of Congress
