ELIZABETH'S IN

Lucas --

This has been a month of action:

When I first ran for Congress, I made a pledge to people of central and northwest Connecticut that, despite the gridlock in Washington, I would work to find bi-partisan solutions -- and fight for the issues that matter most to our communities.

The day after President Obama delivered his State of the Union address, my colleagues and I renewed our efforts to help put an end to senseless gun violence. We introduced a resolution calling on Congress to immediately enact commonsense reforms to make our communities safer, including expanding background checks and improving our mental health system.

People are already taking notice (check out this recent article in The Huffington Post!) but we need your help to get the message out.

We need to work together to move our country forward. Click here to show your support for my balanced bi-partisan approach >>

We're also taking steps to work out the kinks in the Affordable Care Act. When I heard that an irregularity in the healthcare law would place an onerous financial strain on our fire departments, I took swift action. I called on the Obama Administration to issue an exemption for our local heroes.

They listened, and now our force of volunteer firefighters is in a better position than ever to keep our communities safe.

These are the kind of problems I came to Congress to solve.

But our work isn't done, and if we're going to keep up the fight, I need your help. Will you please sign your name saying you're in for my campaign in 2014?

If we stand together, I know we can get anything done.

Thanks,

Elizabeth
