The day after issuing his Executive Order requiring all federal contractors to pay their employees at least $10.10 an hour, I had the honor of introducing President Obama at the annual Democratic Caucus issues conference. The support and excitement for this step forward was clear, but the President and I agree—this is only the start of our fight to boost American workers.
I am a Democrat because we are the party that believes in people—in their inherent ingenuity and desire to work hard. We believe in lifting people up by creating opportunity. And we believe in providing people with the chance to succeed.
