As members of our Jewish community prepare to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah, I want to offer my warmest wishes for a happy and blessed holiday.
The story of Hanukkah is one that attests to the inextinguishable spirit of the Jewish people throughout history and their relentless faith in the face of persecution. It's a story that can inspire all of us, from all religions and all walks of life, to find faith and hope in times of hardship.
Hanukkah is a time to reflect on this powerful spirit and celebrate the vast contributions those of the Jewish faith have made to human history, to the United States, and to all of our communities here in New York.
