ONLY 200,000 AFFORDABLE UNITS?

Every additional unit of affordable housing in our city is one more family of New Yorkers with a brighter future.

That's why this has been such a busy year for affordable housing construction in New York City. We're hard at work to build or preserve 200,000 units of affordable housing by 2024, because every unit will have long-term positive impacts on people's lives -- and on the city as a whole.

Our city is stronger when we all rise together, and that means making sure every New Yorker who needs it has access to affordable housing.

Every New Yorker Deserves Access to Affordable Housing

Our goal of 200,000 units by 2024 is more than just a number.

Just last week, we put shovels in the ground at a new affordable senior housing complex in Highbridge. This week, we broke ground on a major new 100 percent affordable building in Prospect Heights.

Our plan is about real results, in real time, for real New Yorkers. And we won't stop until we can bring these opportunities to every community.
