Health Department Launches New HIV Campaigns #BeHIVSure and NY Knows
New Health Bulletin to Address Continued Disparities
To mark the 26th annual World AIDS Day, the Health Department released
new data in the 2013 HIV Surveillance Annual Report, which show that the
number of new HIV diagnoses in New York City has reached an all-time low.
Black and Hispanic populations and men who have sex with men (MSM) continue
to be disproportionally affected with the highest HIV prevalence rates.
With the report's release, the Health Department also announced the
launch of #BeHIVSure and NY Knows, two campaigns that promote HIV testing
among all New Yorkers.
