If Floridians give me the honor of serving as their governor again, I'll
work with both parties to fight for schools, expand health care, and invest
in the middle class.
But the Office of the Governor has authority to take immediate steps to ensure the government of Florida is working for everyone.
That's why I intend to make January 6th, 2015, the First Day of Fairness. I'll sign five executive orders that will make Florida a better place for all -- not just those at the top.

Here are the five orders I'll sign immediately after my inauguration:
Bring Back Open, Honest, and Transparent Government. I'll reverse Rick Scott's closed records policies -- because Floridians deserve to know that their government is working for them.
Raise the Minimum Wage for State Contractors. I'll raise the wage to $10.10 for all contractors doing business with state agencies that report to the governor's office. This is a vital step to help Florida families.
Fight for Equal Pay. Women in Florida make 83 cents for every dollar a man makes. That's just not fair. I'll do what I can to change that for state contractors.
Ensure Florida Dollars Go to Florida Businesses. Our state contracts should go to Floridians. I'll sign an order directing agencies to, whenever possible and legal, keep our business in-state, and instructing contractors to make every attempt to hire Floridians.
Prevent Discrimination Against LGBT Workers. I'll prohibit any form of discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity within the state agencies or its contractors -- because all Floridians should be equal in the eyes of the law.
That's a lot -- but it's only day one.
