HE'S GOT 2 MILLION

2,000,000

Last week, Governor Jindal issued a statement following the release of the Bureau of Labor Statistics Regional and State Employment and Unemployment Summary, which reported that the number of people employed in Louisiana’s civilian labor force reached another record high, exceeding 2 million for the first time in Louisiana history. The report also highlighted that Louisiana’s unemployment rate remained 4.5 percent, best in the 17-state southern region.
Governor Jindal stated:

“Today’s announcement is another indication that Louisiana’s economy is growing at a remarkable rate. Because of all we have done to make Louisiana a great place to do business, we have now set another record for the number of people working, exceeding 2 million workers for the first time in Louisiana history.

“Surpassing 2 million working Louisianians is proof that our hard work overhauling the ethics code, revamping the workforce training system, cutting taxes, and improving our education system is paying off. Louisiana now has more jobs, more people, and higher incomes than any point in our state's history and our future is bright.”
