Dear Friends,
We did it! And I just want to say THANK YOU to every member of Team Stringer who helped us overcome the odds last night and win one of the toughest Democratic primary match-ups in city history. I could not be more proud of the campaign we ran, or the amazing election day effort that we turned out yesterday.
To all those who stood outside a subway station or polling site to hand out campaign literature, or sent in a donation, or attended one of our rallies, or simply urged a friend or neighbor to support my candidacy – it all added up to a great, grass-roots victory, and we could not have done this without you.
Of course, we still have a general election to win in November, and I will continue to fight for working people and to make sure New York City is a place where middle class families can afford to live, work and put down roots.
But for right now, I want to say thanks and take a moment to share in the pride of this great accomplishment. I am forever grateful for your friendship and support.
