I’m humbled and honored by this victory.
All along, this campaign was about ensuring that working families have a true ally in their next Queens Borough President -- someone who really listens to them and understands their concerns.We built a broad and diverse coalition in every corner of the borough, and united many communities around a shared vision of how to create a stronger and better Queens.
I look forward to making that vision a reality, and fighting for the priorities of Queens residents. Whether it’s creating more affordable housing, investing in small businesses, expanding healthcare access, or helping residents continue to rebuild after Sandy, there is a lot of important work to be done--and I am ready to do it.
I want thank Peter Vallone for a spirited debate on the campaign trail, and hope to work with him as we now engage in the much more important task of moving our borough forward.
Now we'll turn our attention to the general election as we work towards another victory. Thank you again, I couldn't have done this without you!
