Hudson TG is excited to share news of our clients' successes in Tuesday's Democratic Primary Election.
We have the honor and pleasure of working with public officials at every level of government, foundations, businesses, trade associations, faith communities, and non-profits, but today is about the friends who were on the September 10th ballot.
Please join us in congratulating:
Letitia James, who is headed into a run-off for the Democratic nomination for Public Advocate. NYC government is sprawling, with bureaucracies often insensitive to the needs of families and neighborhoods, and sometimes too responsive to special interests. Tish is the right woman for the job of keeping our civic priorities focused on helping our diverse communities, and we look forward to her continued success on October 1st.
Melinda Katz, now the accomplished and visionary Democratic nominee to be the next Queens Borough President. Melinda won decisively throughout the borough, which is America's most diverse community. She will make the office of Borough President a force for creating more affordable housing, investing in small businesses, expanding healthcare access, and helping residents continue to rebuild after Sandy.
Mark Treyger, who we enjoyed working with at every step of his campaign for NYC Council. Having organized an impressive multi-ethnic coalition of activists and neighbors in south Brooklyn, Mark is one of the hardest working people we know.
Ari Kagan, a new dear friend in an ongoing count still too close to call. This campaign was extremely hard-fought, and we are proud to have helped Ari with every aspect of his race through the entire Primary. A spoiler candidate with no chance of winning this Primary, running as a stalking horse for the Republican candidate for this seat, took critical votes from Ari's base. With paper ballots still to be counted, we hope to have more on this soon.
David Fried, now the Democratic nominee for Rockland County Executive. Rockland County Democrats chose an exceptionally well credentialed and accomplished lawyer – who left the bench! – as their standard bearer for November, when they will choose their first new County Executive in 20 years.
And though not a candidate, special recognition for friends in the Aaroni Satmar Hasidic Community, with whom we worked on their important endorsement of Bill de Blasio to be the next Mayor of NYC.
And we were proud to work with:
Councilwoman Sara Gonzalez, who started as a public health activist and chairwoman of a Community Planning Board. Sara had been a strong presence in her district and wider community for years, but she was unfairly branded by parties interested in impacting broader City Council politics.
Joyce Johnson, a dedicated community activist with an impressive history of accomplishments in public service and the business world. She made a strong showing in a race where opposite sides of the most important issues and interests in NYC found reasons to coalesce around the eventual winner.
Chris Banks, who ran against a family dynasty with high name recognition. Chris organized, worked hard, earned the support of prominent public officials, and - more importantly - regulars at Senior Centers throughout the district. For sure, Chris will continue to be active in Brooklyn civic affairs for years to come.
Our office has enjoyed significant growth this year, with several exciting staff and client additions in our fundraising, social venture, communications, government affairs, and campaign practices. Our guiding philosophy continues to be to provide value by improving our clients' ability to achieve their goals through diligent, creative, and responsive consulting services.
Looking forward to November, to 2014, and beyond!
