HONORING OLIVIER GILLIER

Hope Gala

At the tender age of 11 months, Miabelle was diagnosed with HLH, a rare and often fatal disorder, which causes malfunctioning of the histiocyte, one of the primary cells to fight infections. Her only chance of survival was a bone marrow transplant and sadly her twin sister Noelle was not a match.

After desperately searching the Be the Match registry for a potential match and no compatible donor being found, her parents continued to push forward. They rallied the support of their family, friends and colleagues and recruited more than 2,500 new donors into the registry, all while raising awareness and funds to help off-set the costs related to adding new members to the Be the Match registry. Miabelle needed to receive a marrow/stem cell transplant quickly so her doctors decided to do a transplant using two umbilical cord bloods stem cells found on the Be the Match registry. The transplant was very successful and it is the reason Miabelle is alive and well today.

We are humbled at the opportunity to honor our board member, friend and father of Miabelle at our annual gala. Please join us on October 2nd at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park as we honor Olivier Gillier of GC Capital Group at our Hope Gala.

Olivier fully embodies the essence of the work that we do – saving lives. To learn more or to purchase your sponsorship or tickets, please visit us at www.icla.org
