A U.S. Senate masterminded behind closed doors by Karl Rove and the Koch brothers: Sounds like the country's worst nightmare, right?
Well, if we do not come together today behind Kay Hagan (NC), Jeanne Shaheen (NH) and Mary Landrieu (LA), that nightmare could become reality.
Rove's Super PAC, Crossroads, has spent 2013 bashing Kay, Jeanne and Mary. Polls show all three ahead of their likely Republican opponents, but Rove's betting that months of nasty, duplicitous attack ads will take their toll at the ballot box – returning Senate control to the GOP. It is up to us to prove him wrong.

All three of these high-stakes campaigns are heating up: a crowded field of GOP heavyweights is forming to run against Kay, who's endured months of nasty, Koch-funded ads. The National Republican Senatorial Committee just launched what they say is the first part of a "multi-phase" smear campaign against Mary. And Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown is considering moving to New Hampshire to challenge Jeanne.
We all know why Rove, the Kochs and other secretive Republican groups are flooding the airwaves. Our firewall of Democratic women senators is the only thing blocking House Republicans' callous and irresponsible measures, like slashing food stamps, restricting a woman's right to choose and shutting down the government over Obamacare.
Plus, Kay's leading the charge to reverse the disastrous Citizens United Supreme Court decision – which would put them all out of business.
We can stand up to extremist bullies by standing strong with Kay, Jeanne and Mary. We have to help them raise the resources to fight back. And we have to do it today.
