This Monday, Republicans in the House of Representatives refused to keep the government open. All to stop millions of Americans from finally getting affordable health care.
It was a Tea Party temper tantrum.
I've seen the same behavior before – but it's usually at the family breakfast table. Henry, my five-year-old, often pushes his cereal away, instead begging for candy for breakfast.
This is far worse. Federal employees who work to keep our air clean and our water safe were told to go home without pay, while food safety inspections and disease monitoring were put on hold.
We can't let them get away with this. Now it's up to citizens like you to hold the House Republicans accountable.
