YOU'VE ONLY GOT 2.5 MINUTES

If you have ever taken an Advanced Course with me, you will remember that one of the first orders of business is a Safety Briefing during which I point out our First Aid Kit and review the Emergency Procedures

Shooting is an inherently dangerous activity. A person can die from an arterial wound in under 2.5 minutes while nationwide emergency response times average 9-12 minutes. Therefore, if you are going to shoot at the range or carry a firearm on your person you should also Arm Yourself with the knowledge to Save Your Life or that of a loved one in case of a Gun Shot Wound.

This isn't your typical first aid class. We will discuss how to treat Arterial Wounds and other Critical Injuries with Chest Seals, Tourniquets, and Hemostatic Gauze to secure the victim until emergency personnel arrives. Participants will be taught when to apply the various treatments available and have the opportunity to practice applying these treatments.

Gun Shot Wound Care (IFAK) Course - Friday, November 15, 2013 from 5-9pm at Calvary Church in JupiterIFAK

THE most important class you will EVER take! Not to be Missed!

We recommend that all of our our students carry a med kit with them to the range as well as carry one on their person when carrying a firearm for self-defense or on the job. When used properly, a trauma / med kit or IFAK can help stop you or a loved one from bleeding to death from a gun shot or knife wound while waiting for emergency personnel.

In this course, we will discuss how to utilize the various equipment that is commonly found in IFAKs (Improved First Aid Kit). The IFAK was issued to every deploying soldier via the Rapid Fielding Initiative (RFI). It is now standard kit carried in the field.

The class will cover basic first aid as it relates to gunshot care. Most of the curriculum focuses on hemorrhage control (using tourniquets, combat gauze, and Israeli dressings). Other topics that will be touched on include airway control, assisted ventilations, and self aide.

This class is geared toward civilians. No medical experience is required, but is welcome.

A variety of Medical Kits containing the supplies demonstrated in the class will be available for purchase the day of the class.

Cost for this 3-4 Hour Class is $100. Space is limited to 20 students, so Register Now!
