LIU STATEMENT ON TYPHOON DEATHS
New YorkCity Comptroller John C. Liu stated the following about the widespread death and destruction wreaked by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines:
"The destruction in the Philippines is still being assessed, but the reports are horrifying. It is clear that one of the strongest typhoons on record has taken the lives of many hundreds if not thousands of men, women, and children and affected millions of others. New Yorkers are praying for the people of the Philippines and stand with them in this time of terrible need."
